Clean Living

I love this in Sheldon Lee Compton‘s bio on Fictionaut, “I once called Harry Crews, and he told me to keep writing and that he loved me.”

Really it was friends, but for the sake my story I’ll say it was me, who once called Evel Knievel, laid up in a Vegas hospital after a failed jump, to ask his secret of his success.

The secret, Evel said, was “Clean living.”
